In 1995, as the ninth organisation worldwide and the first paint manufacturer, MONOPOL received the ISO 14001 Certificate for its environmental control system.

We have committed ourselves to the increased manufacture of environmentally acceptable products, including paints containing solvents because, as far as production, usage and reliability are concerned, they cannot (yet) be substituted by other systems. However, and here lies a significant difference from earlier products, they are manufactured with a much higher level of solids and with more intricate environmental safety measures, in order to keep the solvent emissions as low as possible. This is ecology from an economic viewpoint.
