Colors have defined my daily working life for three decades now. For almost 20 of those years, I have been working in Customer Support. And I can truthfully say: Not a single day has been boring. The customers and their requirements are so diverse. Plan the day? You can try – but it’s sure to work out quite differently. That is what appeals to me, the spontaneity, the flexibility. To meet all the challenges, we have to operate like clockwork – one cog engages with another, each and every one is important, only as a joint force can we move mountains.

Four out of five of our callers know exactly what they want from Monopol. Regular customers with whom we have an easy relationship. Sometimes these contacts lead to real friendships. Of immense importance, whether a person is ordering from us for the first time or the hundredth, are appreciation and sincerity. If something doesn’t work out as it should, you have to be able to stand up and admit the mistake. Luckily this doesn’t happen often, but it always pays off. Definitely!

I am a totally visual person, so that colors don’t only mean a lot to me in my working life, but also in my leisure time. One of my great passions is photography. When I look through the viewfinder or am walking outdoors, I sometimes ask myself whether the Swiss get any pleasure at all from colorfulness. The buildings are all much too grey for my liking, I would welcome a bit more daring and the guts to experiment!

My favourite color is orange. Not that garish signal orange which we know from high visibility vests. No, rather a sunny, warm, cheerful orange. That suits me much better.
