Ganesh Chaturthi

The Hindu Lord Ganesha is the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles, as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence. It is for this reason that he is worshipped and his benediction is sought before any new activity or venture is begun. Each year, on the occasion of his birthday, an idol is brought in to homes, companies and public places, and daily prayers are offered for up to ten days to worship the elephant-headed deity.

When the festival ends, the idol is carried amid a public procession with music and group chanting, and immersed into a nearby body of water, such as a lake, river or the ocean. This is referred to as Ganesha Visarjan.

Monopol Colors India has celebrated this important festival and the movie shows the idol leaving our factory premises for the Ganesha Visarjan.
