Hospital Álvaro Cunqueiro

What colour to choose for the façade of a hospital set between the sea and the mountains? This was the challenge facing the Spanish architect Luis Vidal at the start of the “Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital ” project. His solution: a green-blue prismatic color that appears different depending on the angle it is viewed from and the amount of daylight. In the Color Lab of Monopol Colors, the architect tinkered around to get the optimal shade – and this has been shining over an area of 12,000 square meters in Vigo, Spain, since 2015.
