Color with Character – A New Home for Glatz

When a traditional company like Glatz in Frauenfeld builds a new office headquarters, it’s not just about space – it’s about expression: architecture that makes values visible.

As an international manufacturer of high-quality sun umbrellas, Glatz has always prioritized innovation, precision, and design clarity. We at Monopol Colors are therefore especially proud to have been part of this landmark project.

In close collaboration with the Glatz design team and the experienced façade specialist Dach & Wand Systembau AG from Andwil, we developed a cladding solution that impresses not only through form but, above all, through color. A bespoke red shade – “Anodized Look Red” – was created to make a statement: it stands out across the surface, shifts subtly with the light, and gives the building a bold, self-confident identity.

A precise, coordinated, and functional coating system
The finish was built up in a premium three-layer system – meticulously calibrated to meet both architectural demands and weather resistance. This coating not only provides reliable protection but, thanks to its special formulation, causes the façade to play with light in ever-changing nuances. Here, color becomes a living element of the design.

The real challenge on this project lay in the complex 3D geometry of the building envelope. It demanded utmost precision in planning and execution – and the façade builder delivered with impressive quality. The chosen color enhances this spatial depth and amplifies the structure’s sculptural character.

What drives us? Projects like this. When color can be more than just a surface – when it conveys attitude, value, and creative intent. For Glatz. For architecture. For spaces that truly resonate.
