Colors, stories and Swiss precision.

The feature in Schweizer Familie takes you into the world of Monopol Colors. It shows the people, technologies and stories behind a Swiss paint factory that has been developing shades for architecture and industry since 1947.

At the Color Lab in Fislisbach, new shades are created every day. Architects and clients mix individual shades together with the on-site specialists. Justin Gawlowski, a painter, monitors the mixing plant “Matrix” and ensures that paints are filled in the correct quantity and quality to an accuracy of 0.2 grams.

“It doesn’t get much more precise than that,” he says. His favourite colour is green, like nature. Here people work who not only produce color, but live it. Dominique Blumer, a technical sales advisor, beautifies and protects surfaces and buildings with coatings and corrosion protection systems. For him, colour means joy and creativity, even though at home everything remains intentionally understated.
